I'm with Computer FX, a small consulting firm that helps local businesses with their technology needs.
Challenge
What challenge were you trying to address with INOXOFT?
We needed to upgrade and modify a dispatching application for a local company.
Solution
What was the scope of their involvement?
The company had a Microsoft Access database which we incorporated into a modern application. For the first phase of the project, we modified the existing system to get it up and running on a stable platform.
For the second version, we used Microsoft Azure to create a new framework for an online app that made the system compatible with mobile devices and enabled remote usage. We also applied responsive design to ensure it could be used by multiple devices. From here, we added additional features, including a calendar and status updates from technicians in the field.
INOXOFT also provided minor tweaks to the frontend design to make it more mobile-friendly and upgraded the .NET framework using Twitter Bootstrap.
What is the team composition?
I worked with the same project manager throughout the project. We were assigned two or three developers.
How did you come to work with INOXOFT?
I had worked with their project manager years ago when he was with another company. When this assignment came up, I reached out to him, found he was working for INOXOFT, and decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with them?
We've spent just over $50,000 in total.
What is the status of this engagement?
The bulk of the project occurred between November 2016–December 2017. Since launch, we’ve made a few tweaks to the application and we have plans to add new features over the next year.
Results
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Because of their responsiveness, we were able to stay on task and deliver the product on time and to our client’s specifications. They also helped us install additional features based on industry best practices and standards.
How did INOXOFT perform from a project management standpoint?
This was one of their greatest strengths. Clear communicators, they met all of our expectations and took the time to ensure the job was done right. We spoke via email and Skype on a weekly basis, and they also used scrum software to provide weekly progress reports to keep us updated every step of the way.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a team of 30-50 people. Because of this range of expertise, they were able to grasp concepts quickly, meaning we didn’t have to spend a lot of time explaining the project goals.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Everything went very smoothly, so I don't have anything negative to say at this time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be open with them, as they’re excellent communicators. They’re experts in their field, so feel free to rely on their experience.
