Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our organization is a software development house. We have a number of different software products we’ve developed. The one in question is a quoting platform that allows sales reps to quote quickly and efficiently.
I’m the lead software developer, particularly on this particular product.
What challenge were you trying to address with INOXOFT?
Our quoting platform was specifically Windows-based and was written over the course of many years. We were looking to get someone with mobile app experience to write a mobile app version of the platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They wrote an integration through our APIs to create a mobile version of our existing desktop quoting platform. The initial phase of the project was discovery, which took a few weeks. INOXOFT gathered as much information as they could about our API and the app’s requirements.
They proceeded to a UI design process that took three weeks. When that was completed, they spent two months developing that actual application.
What is the team composition?
To my knowledge, INOXOFT assigned at least four people to our team. There may have been other internal people as well, but we didn’t interact with them.
How did you come to work with INOXOFT?
The case studies listed in their portfolio on their website made it seem like they had the requisite skills, and they did.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $55,000 USD.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from September 2020–January 2021. We’ll be releasing the application to some of our clients, and based on their feedback we’ll continue with further phases of development with INOXOFT.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The feedback from our clients has been great. People have been excited about the application. The UI INOXOFT is particularly well-liked.
How did INOXOFT perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very strong in this aspect. They were on top of the requirements, and their communication was excellent. I can’t fault them in any way.
We did most of our communication over Slack.
What did you find most impressive about them?
There was a small amount of scope creep from our side, which is usual for a software development project. They were able to handle everything we threw at them fairly easily.
The level of detail they went into in the discovery phase meant that the inevitable scope creep was pretty minimal. Their attention to detail and thorough planning process at the outset stood out.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t give you a way that they could have improved.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just work with them. Our experience was great, and I imagine that anyone else who works with them will receive the same professionalism and attention to detail that we received.
